The first thing I do is get a quick feel for the page. After reading it several times over, I try to select the one image/action/moment that dominates the story on that page. If one story point seems to be clearly strongest on the page, I try to make that panel the most dominant one on the page, using the others to support it.
These drawings are only about 2 inches x 3 inches in size!

We're not concerned with panel interiors here - just the flow of panels on the page. Don't get bogged down with the details of the forms INSIDE the panels -- simply construct the shapes and placements of the panels themselves!
Imagine in your mind the BEST angle to view the action -- then use that angle to determine the shape of the panel needed to accomplish that view.

Be careful to remember "eye-flow." In our western culture, we read from left-to-right, and from top-to-bottom. ALL panel flow MUST obey these rules!! Otherwise, your reader will have to stop READING and start DECIPHERING your art -- at which point, you lost them!
